YellowRockets has been conferred with an award in the Sponsor of the Year category by the The Internet Initiatives Development Fund. This company has been granted this status for its efforts to make available an Online Entrepreneurship course and its sponsorship of students setting up and growing their startups. The award is conferred annually as part of the Russian Youth Online Entrepreneurship Russian national forum.

The Online Entrepreneurship course was developed by the IIDF and included in the university optional curriculum in 2015; it can be taken by senior students in any educational programme. To date, the programme is in place at 131 Russian colleges and universities.

When on the course, the students work in small groups to create and develop their web projects over the course and defend them at the final examination. Training is based on project activities and the flipped classroom strategy. The teacher ceases to be a lecturer; he becomes a coach for his students, shows them what can be improved in their projects and guides the students in their activities. Instructional content is delivered to the students in the form of video lectures and self-study aids.

While on the course, the students study strategies for building a high-tech business, such as Customer Development, lean product development, value proposition and business modelling methods.

In the Samara Oblast, YellowRockets helped launch the Online Entrepreneurship programme at three major universities in the region — Samara University, Volga Telecommunications and Information Science University and Samara Polytechnic University. Four teachers received special training under the programme; the course has enabled more than 100 students to receive new knowledge and develop their projects.
